"All you have to do is know where you're going.
The answers will come to you of their own accord."
— Earl Nightingale: American motivational speaker and author
What comes to your mind when you read this quote by Mr Nightingale?  I am not sure about you but I can tell you this!  I believe this statement 100% TRUE and here's why. In July of 2010, nearly four years ago,  I took a GIANT leap of faith to start my own business from home. My focus at that time was to build a business big enough to do three things.
1) Be able to take care of myself.
2) Be able take care of my family.
3) Hire at least 5 to 10 people.
Being totally honest my initial thought  was on making money and living a very nice life style. Not anything too extravagant. Just enough money  to be able to have a house paid for( only have to pay  taxes and utility bills,no car note and little to no credit card debt). I want my wife and I to have very nice cars and live in a nice upstanding community, be able to travel. I will have no money  issues(a positive cash flow of ten thousand per month). Only issues I wanted with money was where to invest it and how to make it grow. I also wanted my kids to be on the right track financially and show them how to make enough money for them to take care of themselves as well. I also believe my company will live by the  parable" Give a Man or Woman a Fish and they eat for a day~ Teach them to fish and they can eat for a lifetime". Personally my initial concept of having a business has changed. In the beginning I only wanted to make money and get paid. I didn't realize that a business has two main goals. One to serve the people and the other to solve a problem. It's one thing to want a business but it's another to actually make it happen. You have to be willing to sacrifice a lot of things in order to become the person that is able to live the lifestyle you truly desire. To have my your  own successful business I needed to make some changes. I needed to know some things:
1) What business do I want and will I  have a product or service. What problems am I  willing to solve for others?
2) What type of business? Will it be a sole proprietor, partnership, LLC or something else?
3) Who will be my customers?
4) Why do I  want to start this a business?
Now for the truth. The success rate in any business is very low and failure rate very high and here's why? Most will start a business based on Money alone. Once they get involved and see that it will take some real sacrifice in the  area of time, money and resources. They may even become discouraged when they realize what it  really takes.  It may take the better part of 5 years to even know if your business will be on life support or will your business stand the test of time and be what you always dreamed of. Success in business is not always determined by money. Success in business may even change your entire perspective about life. It will change who you are. I cannot move forward and stay the same. I cannot take the same path while moving in a new direction. To get a new place in life  it will take time(T.hingsI.M.ustE.xperience). If I plant a seed of corn in the ground, water and fertilize it , I expect a stalk of corn to grow. I don't expect  the seed to stay the same in the ground. If I expect nothing to change why plant a seed. My business is that seed of corn that is planted. It may take some time to grow. I must water my business each and every day no matter how it looks or how I feel.
I truly believe in the before mentioned quote"All you have to do is know where you're going. The answers will come to you of their own accord." In order to get any where in life we have to have a  plan and know where we want to go.The fun part is discovering who you've become as a result of where you want to go. The only way to learn about what to do, is to do. Experience is the best teacher. We teach what we learn. Life is a journey to be discovered on my way to learn how to live or to be in business. No one has all the answers. God will only give me the answers after I start to take the test.
